MAP Ultra Music Festival is an annual outdoor electronic
music festival that occurs in March in the city of Miami usually during
the annual Winter Music Conference. It was a 1-day festival from 1999-2006,
a 2-day festival from 2007-2010, and has been announced as a 3-day festival
in 2011. It is one of the highest grossing music festivals in the world
Originally created as a pure EDM (electronic dance music)
festival in 1999,
Ultra has grown through the years to present not only the
World’s hottest, biggest and best headline EDM artists, but also crossover
headline bands that incorporate EDM elements in their music and have a
history, or new beginning in the EDM community and culture (The Cure, The
Killers, The Black Eyed Peas, Bloc Party, The Bravery).
Last year over 55,000 dance music
enthusiasts coming from the entire United States and over 50 countries
around the world were in attendance, marking it as the largest ever UMF
event
In addition to the annual Miami
festival, UMF has expanded internationally to include events in Sao Paulo,
Belo Horizonte, San Juan, Madrid and Ibiza. UMF recently added a January
2 festival in Cambriou (Brazilia)

Ultra Music Festival 2012 Announces Phase 2 Lineup Additions
Ultra Music Festival has just announced phase 2 of the
festival lineup. As if names like Tiesto, Kraftwerk, Justice, David
Guetta weren’t enough to satisfy electronic music fans with the phase 1
announcement, these new additions surely will. The biggest names
include Richie Hawtin, Benny Benassi, Wolfgang Gartner, DJ Shadow, Erick
Morillo, ATB, Martin Solveig, Gossip, Gui Boratto, Switch, and a DJ set
