First artists announced
We bet you've been waiting a while for this since Iceland
Airwaves 2011 was SO GREAT (see the rockumentary here). It's time to announce
the first ten artists for Iceland Airwaves 2012, which will take place
in Reykjavík Oct 31 to Nov 4.
Of the international breed we bring you East-London band
Django Django, who will make your ears go django django with their British
guitar music, Brooklyn-based Friends' catchy 80's throwback bubblegum pop,
Elena Tonra's beautiful folk project Daughter and Brooklyn's gothy electro
duo Exitmusic.
On the Icelandic front we proudly announce intimate and dreamy
indie musician sóley, neo-folk riffmasters Prins Póló,
80's influenced eletro-pop outfit Sykur, soothing electro trio Samaris,
upbeat R&B electro project Úlfur Úlfur and psychedelic
blues rockers The Vintage Caravan.

The stunning glass facade is designed by visual artist Ólafur Elíasson.
Harpa is an exciting addition to the Iceland Airwaves venues and will house
no less that three venues and our info center in 2011!
