Although no location has been confirmed chances are that
like prior years the three-day festival will once again be held at the
Empire Polo Field in Indio, California.
Coachella is een Amerikaans festival met elk jaar
weer een zeer goede line-up in Indio, een plaatsje net buiten Palm Springs,
California.Veel bands beginnen in het voorjaar daar hun festival-tour,
om in juni naar Europa over te komen, als daar het festivalseizoen begint. 
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly known
as Coachella or Coachella Fest) is a three-day (formerly a one or two-day)
annual music and arts festival organized by Goldenvoice held at the Empire
Polo Fields in Indio, California. The event features many genres of music
including alternative rock, hip hop, and Electronic music as well as large
sculptural art. The event has several stages/tents set-up throughout the
grounds, each playing live music continuously. The main stages are: Coachella
Stage, Outdoor Theatre, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent, and the Sahara Tent
Each year, the festival also features interesting installation
art and sculptures. Most of the pieces are interactive, and provide entertainment
and eye candy for attendees walking throughout the Polo grounds.

Update 2012
Now that the Coachella Music Festival is set for 2012,
complete with its new two week format, comes the news of what many of those
bands will do in the one week in between the two Coachella dates. Coachella
sideshows, of course. The newly announced lineup of Coachella sideshows
portends a schedule of shows between the dates of Apr. 11 - Apr 23.
Some highlights include shows by Neon Indian, Manchester
Orchestra, Band of Skulls, Bon Iver and Madness all on Tuesday Apr. 16;
while Apr. 19 includes shows from Pulp, Wild Flag, Tune-Yards & St.
Vincent, The Big Pink and Girls with Yuck. You thought you had it rough
with choosing what bands to see at what stage inside the Coachella Festival
... now who do you go see in the area AROUND Coachella in the week in between?
And there are shows every night!
